In this hands-on workshop, over 35 participants learned how to build and deploy cloud applications from scratch, and dove into tools like Visual Studio Code, GitHub, and CI/CD. The workshop was presented by Aaron Wislang, a Senior Cloud Advocate at Microsoft with over a decade of experience.
Breakthrough to Excellence provided a positive and enriching platform for students and industry professionals to network and communicate. Co-hosted with FDM at FDM Canada, representatives provided their personal insight into various topics - including technical interviews. Participants had the opportunity to network with Account Executives, the Recruitment team, current IT and Business Consultants.

Over the course of a weekend, attendees developed amazing hacks, pitched to diverse judges, networked with dozens of sponsors, and participated in workshops from Microsoft and Google. Environment AND Tech!? TOHacks' ECOding Hacks was a day-long hackathon with a focus on tackling the pressing environmental issues we face today. This 10-hour hackathon had over 100 students immersed in an atmosphere that facilitated the incorporation of creative and critical thinking to devise solutions for real-world problems. ECOding Hacks was hosted at York University, in partnership with YENYR, Microsoft, and Chainsafe.
In partnership with Junior Economic Club and Blockchain Ryerson at Ryerson University, the Emerging Technologies Conference was an all-day event that had over 80 attendees. With a focus on emerging trends in STEM, participants learned from experts in AI, Data Privacy/Ethics, Fintech, Data Science, Personal Branding, and Blockchain.
Co-hosted with MLG Blockchain Consulting and Blockchain Ryerson at the DMZ Sandbox, Student Opportunities in Blockchain was a 3-hour event in June 2018. Over 80 participants, speakers, and industry professionals discussed and identified areas of growth in this developing industry.
TOHacks' inaugural 12-hour hackathon was hosted at the Bahen Centre for Information Technology at the University of Toronto, in partnership with BMO. With over 150 attendees, 5 amazing workshops, and dozens of inspiring hacks, TOHacks 2018 was a huge success!
